The Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) is inviting you to Mark it Read for Dyslexia Awareness Month.

October 1st, 2021 marked the start of the 4th annual Dyslexia national awareness-raising campaign. This year’s theme, Empowering Voices, intends to inspire young people across Canada to be proud that they are #PoweredByDyslexia as well as to provide a platform for young voices to be heard.

Mark it Read

By supporting Mark it Read, you will be supporting the estimated 10-20% of Canadians that live with Dyslexia, you will help to raise awareness of Dyslexia, as well as help to dispel myths and misconceptions of this learning disability.

Supporting Students with Learning Disabilities in the WRDSB

Beyond Dyslexia Awareness Month, WRDSB students are supported in their individual learning needs all year round. The WRDSB uses a tiered approach to program for students’ needs, which includes those students with a learning disability. A tiered approach allows a continuum of supports and interventions to be provided based on a student’s learning needs.
