An Occupational Therapist (OT) will be assigned to every school to provide regular and consistent services that support the entire school community. As was the case last year, OT services are delivered along a continuum of tiered services. OT services can include:

  • Universal (Tier One) services are designed to help all children in the classroom
  • Targeted (Tier Two) services provide additional support to children who are struggling despite the initial recommendations from Tier One
  • Individualized (Tier Three) services are offered to children with more complex needs

In support of the P4C model, schools are required to contact all families, notifying them of the program and informing them of a blanket consent for the OT to observe their child in the classroom and provide universal strategies to their teacher to benefit all students in the learning environment.
