Students can order pitas and/ or smoothies each Wednesday for the month of January (10, 17, 24 and 31) from the Pita Pit New Hamburg. The pitas are actually “pepitas” smaller 6 inch pitas with topping choices that meet board nutritional guidelines. The pepitas and smoothies will arrive for the second nutrition break.  The cost is $20.00 for four pepitas. The pepita options include: chicken breast, turkey or hummus and veggies.  Orders can be made on school day. Please select the pepita choice, fillings and sauces; your child will receive the same choice for each Pita Day during the entire month. Smoothies can also be ordered, the flavour choices are strawberry banana and mango. The smoothie order is a separate school day product and the cost  is $10.00 for four smoothies. Parent council is organizing this as a trial to see how much interest there is for pita lunches in our school community. If students are absent food will not be saved for the next day or money refunded.
